A Child’s Recipe

These collection of souvenirs are my visual interpretation of the first time I tried to make tea. I was about 5 years old, and my aunt asked me to make her some tea. Not knowing how to make tea with a tea bag, my younger self decided to put a tea bag into a plastic water bottle, and simply, shake it.

I shook the bottle harder and harder, until I noticed that the tea bag had popped inside the water bottle. It was quite devastating to look at the water bottle full of flakes that resembled ash.

When my aunt noticed my mistake, she kindly showed me the right way to make tea with a tea bag instead of scolding me. The memory of that day allowed me to think about the notion of generosity as a result of understanding somebody.
